Properly torquing your wheels keeps them safe, secure, and performing the way they should. Whether you're running aftermarket wheels, spacers, or lifted suspension, this step is critical—and easy to do right.
Too loose, and your wheel could come off while driving.
Too tight, and you can damage studs, rotors, or crack the wheel.
Correct torque = safety + performance.
Torque wrench (click-style is best)
Socket that fits your lugs
Vehicle’s torque spec (usually 80–120 lb-ft for trucks/SUVs)
Hand-tighten all lug nuts.
Use a star pattern to tighten in sequence.
Set your torque wrench to spec and tighten each lug until it clicks.
Drive 50–100 miles, then recheck the torque—this step matters!
Never torque with an impact gun.
Don't skip the re-torque.
Only use lube or anti-seize if your wheel or lug manufacturer recommends it.
Stay safe. Stay dialed. Torque your wheels right—every time.
