Custom PowderCoating Explained

DID YOU KNOW? All Forged Wheels, whether for a truck, car, jeep or suv, are powdercoated (unless they are polished)
The one and only way to finish wheels in a color is to POWDERCOAT, or atleast for now, with all this technology coming out.

There are 3 STAGES of PowderCoat options to choose from

Single Color - All wheels are eligible for a custom single color powdercoat. If you opt for a single color wheel, your ENTIRE WHEEL will be this color

Two Color - All wheels are eligible for a Custom Two color powdercoat finish. This comes at an added cost but allows you to do the fine details of the wheels in a separate color.

Three Color - This is ONLY for 2 and 3 PIECE WHEELS! You can place color in different areas of the wheels such as bolts, spoke windows, engravings filled with color, and so much more!

Below you can browse some of the most popular color options, but the possibilities are virtually endless. See more color options at prismaticpowders.com

Custom Finishing Explained

Truly unique finishes that are not applied to the wheel, but more so altering the composure of the metal. There are a few different types of Wheel Finishes

These finishing techniques look great with a clear powdercoat (required for protection). You can choose to do a Gloss, Satin or Matte Clear Coat to achieve the finish shein of your liking.

However, you can also opt for doing a translucent color on top of your unique finish.

Exotic Materials Explained

Brands like AL13 and HRE Wheels offer Carbon barrel THREE Piece wheels. And EMPHASIS on the THREE because when doing one piece carbon wheels, you cannot customize them as there is nothing to customize since it's full carbon. No companies offer carbon spokes for 3-piece wheels, yet. But when they do, you will only be able to customize the color of the hardware (bolts and center caps), which is boring.

For 3-Piece Carbon Barrel wheels, you have the option of Forged Carbon or 2x2 Weave Carbon. And you can get as custom as you want with the finishes of the spokes, hardware and center caps. See Custom PowderCoating section above to learn more about powder-coating finishes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between powder coating and painting wheels?

Answer: Powder coating is generally more durable and long-lasting than traditional painting. It involves applying a dry powder that is heat-cured, resulting in a thicker, more resilient finish that resists chipping, corrosion, and scratches better than paint. Painting offers a wider range of colors and finishes but may require more frequent touch-ups or maintenance, especially if exposed to rough conditions

How much does it cost to customize the color of my wheels?

Answer: The cost of customizing wheel colors can vary depending on whether you choose painting or powder coating, the complexity of the design, and the size of the wheels. On average, powder coating a set of four wheels can cost between $400 and $800, while custom paint jobs might range from $300 to $600, depending on the finish and design. More intricate or multi-color designs can raise the price further

Will custom-colored wheels hold up in extreme weather conditions?

Answer: Powder-coated wheels are typically more resistant to extreme weather, including rain, snow, and salty conditions, as the coating is more durable and resistant to corrosion. Custom-painted wheels can also last in extreme conditions, but the quality of the paint job and the clear coat will play a significant role in its longevity. Regular cleaning and maintenance will help extend the life of your custom-colored wheels(
